Damn, this again. Slapped back to reality.
Why do you all have to be like this?—
With all your yelling and barking;
Your rudeness, your control, your entitlement.
Look at you. You force me out of myself—
So abruptly, an instant obligation
To interact with you, to acknowledge;
And I find myself unable to return
To me for so long. I cannot be.
Because you couldn’t stop barking.
So let yourself impose on me
All the boundaries and expectations—
Of your choosing—without ever
Asking for mine; Let yourself indulge
In your judgment of me, for I do not
Truly embody nor feel this outwardness
You possess, this gregarious energy;
Let yourself attack me at the first sign
Of conflict—reject me violently
For not being exactly as you
Had envisioned; Let yourself
Destroy and leave me dry
Once I no longer suit your tastes,
Without reason. Take everything.
